Facility Manager- Edmonton, AB
Harvard Property Management Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Facility Manager to join its team in Edmonton, Alberta. This position is accountable to lead and oversee the activities of a maintenance team responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience while operating, repairing and maintaining a portfolio of office and light industrial buildings dispersed in and around Edmonton and the northern Alberta region.
The Facility Manager will:
•Be the primary customer liaison for communication, follow up, satisfaction and quality assurance;
•Conduct customer needs assessments and develop service level agreements with KPI's;
•Establish operating/maintenance costs and collaborate with accounting to prepare long-range plans and budgets for each individual property within the region;
•Recruit, train, organize, coach and supervise the regional maintenance team;
•Plan, organize and direct supplier relations, purchasing and contract administration within established procedure, and oversee quality assurance of all delivered goods and services;
•Coordinate the team's activities to assist other departments accomplish their duties onsite, such as tenant services, facility planning and management of capital projects.

Nearly 1.6 million square feet of the managed portfolio will be the responsibility of this position.
What you will bring to the job:
• A high level of commitment to serving customers with availability to travel;
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4-5 years of study, along with CFM designation through IFMA. Certification as FMP and SFP would also be beneficial;
•6 or more years' experience in office and light industrial facility maintenance;
•Proficiency in the English language, both written and oral, as well as strong listening and collaborative skills that enable positive and beneficial relationships;
•Sound understanding of law impacting on facility management and business operations, especially as they relate to contract administration, workplace safety, building and maintenance codes;
•Demonstrated ability controlling costs, service optimization and sustainability;
•Exceptional team building, leadership and supervisory skills;
•Excellent computer literacy with experience using digital devices; and
•The ability to work independently or collaboratively as circumstances may dictate, using personal initiative and sound judgement to achieve purchasing guidelines, project schedules and budget.
